About John Bullar the Author of Cabinetmaking - A Foundation Course:

Author John Bullar designs and makes bespoke furniture to commission using contemporary versions of techniques his Grandfather used as a cabinetmaker in the nineteen twenties. His engineering degree is valuable when testing and demonstrating equipment. Belonging to a group of furniture designer-makers he visits workshops across the country comparing techniques with some of the finest.

Making bespoke furniture means every piece is different and John regularly describes his work in project and technical articles, published in UK and US magazines and translated into other languages. His techniques and projects have featured in Furniture and Cabinetmaking magazine (UK), Woodworking Plans and Projects (UK), The Router and Power Woodworking (UK), Traditional Woodworking (UK), American Router and Power Woodworking (US), Fine Woodworking (US), HolzWerken (De), L'Atelier Bois (Fr).

Listening and talking to clients about new ideas, working with native hardwoods and using good tools give John Bullar real pleasure.
